When Should You Give Your Fiancé Your Boudoir Album?

Hello Wedding Season!! New York State’s COVID restrictions are relaxing and hopefully brides can take an enormous sigh of relief! A pandemic has certainly changed the way brides have had to plan their weddings and some have even found themselves with some extra time before the big day. One way to use that extra time is to book a boudoir session for yourself! It gives you the gift of seeing yourself for the sexy, gorgeous woman that you are and it gives your groom the gift of. . . well, the gift of. . . YOU! When considering a bridal boudoir session, many clients have asked us, “When should I give my fiance this boudoir album?”
Here are some ideas we’ve heard over the years with some pros and cons to consider:

After The Rehearsal Dinner
After the rehearsal dinner is one option when considering the timing for gifting your fiancé your boudoir album. This certainly is a great option, you’ll get to give him the album yourself and either he can open it there with you or you can ask him to open it when he’s alone later that night. He gets a tease of his bride before the “I do’s” and, if he will be alone the night before the wedding, he’ll have some private time to gawk at your gorgeous photos. However, it may be harder to find some alone time the night of your rehearsal dinner so keep that in mind with this option.

The Morning of the Wedding
The morning of the wedding seems to be the most popular time for brides to present their groom with a gift. While on one hand this time is great because he’ll see your boudoir photos only a few hours before he sees you coming down that aisle, on the other hand some would argue that may NOT be the best time to surprise your groom with a sexy gift. Why? Well, you’ll need someone else to give him your album and most likely he’ll be with all his buddies, getting ready in one room together. They’ll be wondering what this special present is that he’s trying to hide and might not leave him alone about it! However, if you can plan ahead to create a time when he’ll be alone with your wedding photographer that morning, we suggest you ask the photographer to capture the moment when he sees your album for the first time. That way he’ll be able to open it in private (mostly - your photographer is a professional and is most likely used to seeing boudoir photos!) AND you’ll get to see the photos of his first reaction when he sees your sexy photos!

The Night of the Wedding
You may consider waiting until after the wedding to gift your now-husband with this seriously sexy gift! It makes perfect sense, the night of the wedding is the first time you both can be alone together as Mr. and Mrs. You can even be there to see his initial reaction! However, there are some other things to consider. . . the night of the wedding can often be unpredictable. Whether someone needs to go to bed early, drank too much, or you are in for a night of lovemaking. . . maybe save the climax of a boudoir album for another night.

The Honeymoon
If you are fortunate enough to go on a honeymoon after your wedding, this is definitely a time to consider giving hubby your boudoir album. All the intimate time you get to spend together plus super sexy YOU will make any getaway unforgettable. On the other hand, it could be hard for you to wait THAT long to give him this special present! The weeks leading up to a wedding are tedious enough! There is also the worry of traveling with your album . . . you want your album to be kept in a safe/private place!
