haven’t we all wanted to sit in that chair in front of a lighted mirror? TO be the starlet, the model, the object of such care and attention? To accentuate and celebrate our radiant beauty! well my dear, that is precisely how session day begins at BSNY. get ready to shine!!!
When you first arrive to our studio on the day of your photo shoot, you’ll sit down with one of our amazing stylists, Bekky, Tiffany, Shoranda, or Katrina, to decide on the look you want. With the expert advice of your stylist, you will consider the look you’re going for in conjunction with the outfits you have planned. In a previous post, we shared 3 Very Good Reasons Why We Include Hair/Makeup With Your Boudoir Session. Not only does getting your hair & makeup done at the studio give you a chance to settle in before the shoot and provide you with a professionally-done appearance, but it’s an immediate confidence boost and one less thing you need to consider on the day of your photo shoot.
You’ll arrive to the studio with clean hair and a clean, makeup-free face (don’t worry, you’ll be prepped very well before hand and will know exactly what to do). Before getting into your first outfit, you’ll have the chance to sit and relax while getting completely pampered. Having your hair styled perfectly, your eyelashes attached professionally, and your makeup applied impeccably will put you at ease before it’s time to step in front of the camera. The chance to have a few laughs and connect with your stylist adds another layer of luxury to the experience. Speaking from the perspective of a previous client, walking in makeup free and then seeing myself transform in front of the mirror (all while feeling like I was chatting with one of my besties), made it so that by the time I was ready, I was bursting with confidence and the energy to bring it, baby! Although you’re already beautiful when you walk through the door, your stylist knows how to get you camera ready. She knows the difference between regular day-to-day makeup and camera-friendly makeup. She’ll be able to help you achieve the look you want, whether you’re interested in a more natural glow or something a bit more dramatic (side note…I went with a natural look for my first shoot and bolder makeup the second time around - for some variety - and was extremely excited about the results each time). Be prepared to feel a little ‘overdone’ when you’re through, but rest assured… this will appear quite differently through the camera lens. You can also feel at ease knowing that your makeup will not smear or wear off throughout the day. In fact, that brings us to our last point…
…Not only will your hair and makeup be perfect throughout the day, lasting through outfit changes and ensuring a successful look from beginning to end, but it will last well into the evening too! Therefore… if you have the opportunity, plan something special for afterwards. Make a dinner date with your honey or plan to go out with friends. Not only will you glow due to the expert pampering from our stylist, but also from the natural high you’ll get from having shown up and shined your lovely light.

One last side note…I happened to have a party to go to after my last shoot. When I walked in, my friend looked at me and said, “Wow! What Hollywood set did you just walk off of?” True story… Thank you Bekky & Tiffany!!! My dreams of being that starlet sitting in the tall chair by the lighted mirror have been fulfilled.
