What is sexy to you?

by Francesca Flansburg

If I asked you to define what sexy is, whose definition would you give me? Would you tell me what sexy means to YOU? Or would your definition come from what mainstream media says is sexy? If your definition isn’t meaningful to YOU, I invite you to reexamine and redefine it.

Personally, my definition of sexy is not the “Magic Mike” or the Victoria’s Secret model. Not that they aren’t stunning…However, it’s the mischievous look in his eyes. It’s her playful tone as she delivers those witty one-liners. The way he makes me laugh until my cheeks hurt and her tousled hair while she eats cornflakes on the couch. That’s sexy…to me.

After all, out largest sex organ lies between the ears. That’s right, it’s our brain! Psychology can be more important than physiology when it comes to gettin’ our groove on. That’s why traits like courage, passion, intellect, humor, confidence, and positivity can be so powerfully attractive. Recognizing these sexy qualities helps us to realize that it’s not something you switch on or off. This kind of sexy is BONE DEEP. It’s with you in the grocery store, the movie theater, your living room, your bedroom, and definitely your boudoir photography shoot.

These things shine through in the way you move, the way you smile, your facial expressions, your clothing (or lack thereof). And in all of this, the common denominator is YOU.

So…what is sexy to you?

If you need some inspiration to refine your true definition of sexy or to strengthen your own sexy vibes, here are 10 simple things you can do (and do often) to get your groove on…and keep it on!

  1. Make a list of all your great qualities.

  2. Move. Take a walk, go for a hike, stretch, put on some sexy music and dance. Anything to get your blood flowing and your body moving will do.

  3. Wear pretty lingerie anytime/all the time. Do it for yourself because you’re worth it.

  4. Sexify your environment: light scented candles, display sexy pictures, play with the lighting, use luxurious fabrics.

  5. Pamper yourself! Take a bubble bath, get a mani/pedi, get a massage, exfoliate and rub silky lotion into your skin.

  6. Find your passion. Can’t find it? Then just enjoy the process of looking and learn or do something new.

  7. Watch a sexy music video, listen to music that puts you in the mood and let your imagination run wild, or find some sexy reading material if books are your thing.

  8. Unplug and take time to relax, meditate, or just breathe for a few minutes.

  9. Connect with the people who light you up and see you for the wonderful being that you are.

  10. Schedule a boudoir shoot with Boudoir Studios New York to celebrate and capture your beautiful, sexy self.
