We don’t say this to sound cliche or cheesy…

Every single day we run around this world wearing many different hats. We take on responsibilities and face whatever comes our way. You would imagine that your bedroom or bathroom may be a safe place to express yourself or have compassion for the vessel that carries you day in and day out. However, for a lot of us, we are critical to that person in the mirror. We pick her apart. Literally and figuratively. Think about it. . . we pinch our love handles, shame our breasts and butt for being too big or too small and pull our faces awkwardly to smooth wrinkles. We hear it all the time, we say it all the time. . . “Love yourself”. What does that mean? Do you need to think really hard? Or do you need to express love and compassion for yourself? Hopefully, you’ve realized that we all need to do a little more of the latter!

This is a safe place to express yourself, accept yourself, and maybe even fall in love with yourself; as you are, right now.

Hey, this is a really important paragraph. It will quickly save you years of therapy. . .

If you struggled with body image issues, weight issues, or self-love issues growing up, no matter how much you change yourself physically, mentally you will most likely still have this same struggle. I don’t know who tricked us into believing that once we transform our bodies, our minds will automatically update or something. This is simply not true. After hundreds of Discovery Calls and photographing clients for the past 11 years, we continually discover that our clients often still identify with their inner child's struggles. But the power of boudoir reaches beyond their outer appearance, touching a deeper place inside, welcoming a dimension of self-love and self-appreciation that may not have been there before. I can’t even tell you how many women have described their boudoir session with us as “healing”. What an incredible adjective to use about photography!

While boudoir photography is becoming more popular. . . more clients than ever come to us to explore who they want to be. The thing is, while our outward appearances may exude confidence, self-love, and strength, our mindsets may be a whole different world!

Boudoir photography is an excellent way to create a metaphorical bridge connecting  who you are with who you want to be.
