Wonder Woman: Missy's Transformation
If you have had a boudoir session with us then you know. . . the experience is much more than just posing in front of the camera. Most of our clients are at the studio early getting pampered with hair and makeup, they get to know us and we get to know them. Every single client has been on some kind of journey that ended up with them arriving to us. Whatever journey they are on, one thing remains the same. Our studio offers a safe place for clients to open up about their journey in life and to be absolutely vulnerable with us. . .
Learning to Love my Mom Bod
If someone were to ask you to give up your children so that you can have your pre-baby body back (most days) your answer would be no. So here you are with no other choice but to accept your mom bod. Whether you are pregnant now, had a baby recently or three years ago, your body will never be the same! I am currently struggling with body image issues as I am now pregnant with my 2nd child. All the feelings of inadequacy have already rushed back even though I am barely halfway through pregnancy #2. So what better way to refresh my mind by reminding you and I to love our mom bods!?
Snapchat Made Me Hate My Face!
It is natural to compare ourselves to other people especially when we are immersed in the daily habit of using social media. According to the social comparison theory, we are more likely to compare ourselves to someone who we think is better looking and this negatively impacts our own self-evaluation. However, with the birth of Snapchat, we are now comparing ourselves to the better looking, extremely modified, versions of ourselves. These filters can become addictive and downright damaging to our self-concept and self esteem.
Wonder Woman: Single Mom Adoption and Entrepreneurship
We often hear stories of single mothers being born out of necessity and not by choice. It takes an incredible woman to take her future into her own hands and become a mother on her own terms. Lisa, our newest wonder woman, had a pivotal moment in her life and dared to take on the challenge. Lisa shares with us how her adopting journey unfolds while masterfully multitasking her 3 businesses that bring more love and joy into this world.
Here is her story:
Bridal Wars
This past Sunday, we were attending an exhilarating event at Casa Larga Vineyard and Winery in Fairport NY. Every bride in attendance was there with their bridal squad which can include an unlimited number ranging from bridesmaids, mothers, cousins, sisters and friends! Each bridal team competes in fantastic games for cash prizes. The Boudoir Studio was there for the second year in a row assigned to take the teams mugshots. . . but you know we couldn’t just stop there. We added a twist to bride’s “criminal record”.
The Do's and Don'ts of Bridal Boudoir
In the wedding world, boudoir photography has become increasingly popular over the past ten years. Brides have been choosing boudoir as a way to give their grooms the ultimate gift: incredible photos of themselves. The Boudoir Studio was actually birthed from the idea of just offering this service to brides-to-be and has now evolved into offering this unique photo session to every woman no matter her age, body type or where ever she is on this journey of life. Over the years, we have compiled a list of the “dos” and “don’ts” when it comes to preparing for your session.
Boudie Babe: Rene
I am so excited to introduce everyone to Rene. Working with Rene was an absolute pleasure. Right from the beginning, Rene shared with me a little about herself and reasons for coming to us. She shared with me things she was nervous about as well as what she was excited about. Seeing the positive shift that took place from within her from the time of our shoot planning call to the end when she saw her pictures was so beautiful to watch. All in all, she is a beautiful person inside and out and I am so excited for her and the journey she is on.

Motherhood: Expectation vs. Reality
Mother’s day is this Sunday! I cannot help but reflect on what it means to be a mother while honoring the many mother figures in my life. If you missed one of my past posts, An Unconventional Love Story, I became a mother unexpectedly early! While I had always imagined myself becoming a mother, I felt like a had little time to actually prepare. Now being 3 1/2 years into motherhood, it makes me wonder…
is anyone really ready for motherhood?

An Unconventional Love Story
If someone would have told me, “Jill, when you download that Plenty of Fish (POF) App on to your phone, you will find your future husband and be pregnant in 7 months,” I probably would have just died right there, on the floor, from utter disbelief. In case you missed my Online Dating for Longterm Compatibility post. . .
